University of Wisconsin Soybean Variety Performance Trials 2022

The Department of Agronomy College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin – Madison released their Soybean Variety Performance Trial results for 2022.  These trials are conducted each year with the producer’s needs in mind.

• Southern Region Glyphosate Tolerant Soybean Trial
  Loyal Brand L2130E, maturity of 2.1, was a result leader yielding 90 bu/A in the 2022 3 – test average, where the trial mean was 84 bu/A.  This product has an excellent disease package that favors central and eastern environments, offers resistance to BSR plus strong protection in SWM areas.   
• Central Region Glyphosate Tolerant Soybean Trial
  Loyal Brand L1540E, L1740E, L2130E, L2150E and L2250E topped the charts in the. Offering strong yields of 75-77 bu/A in the 2022 3 – test average, where the trial mean was 73 bu/A. 
• North Central Region Glyphosate Tolerant Soybean Trial
  Loyal Brand L1540E, L1730E, L1740E showcased a 3 – test average yield up to 71 bu/A against a trial mean of 64 bu/A. 
• North Region Glyphosate Tolerant Trial
  Loyal Brand L1230E served up 61 bu/A average on a 3 – test average against the trial mean of 58 bu/A.

• Central Region Glyphosate Tolerant Soybean Trial
  Legacy Seeds had two top performers: LS154-22 at 75 bu/A and LS174-20 at 74 bu/A. These varieties exceeded the trial mean of 73 bu/A. 
• North Central Region Glyphosate Tolerant Soybean Trial
  Legacy Seeds LS174-20 had a 3 – test average yield of 67 bu/A outperforming the trial mean of 64 bu/A. 
• Northern Region Glyphosate Tolerant Soybean Trial
  Legacy Seeds LS124-21 3 – test average of 62 bu/A exceeded the trial mean of 58 bu/A. 

Legacy Seeds Conventional Soybeans

• Southern Conventional Soybean Trial
  Legacy Seeds LS203-22C offered up 85 bu/A, that is 11 bu/A more than the trial mean of 74 bu/A. LS231-21C also performed well with 79 bu/A. 
• North Central Conventional Soybean Trial
  All 4 Legacy Seeds entries outperformed the trial mean of 48 bu/A.  LS121-22C 53 bu/A, LS151-21C 50 bu/A, LS187-21C 52 bu/A and LS203-22C 56 bu/A.
